My trip to Poland

First of all, welcome back. Everytime I tell myself to go and start blogging more I just don’t do it. I don’t know why, guess it’s because I’m just so short on time. Really, this summer is flying by like crazy. And so did my trip to Poland. Which is what I am going to talk about today.

It kind of felt like I needed to explain myself, I don’t know why but it just feels that way. I’ve been offline on my blog and on Instagram for a pretty long time and suddenly I was back, and in Poland. So here comes my story.

This year, 2020, was the year that one of my best friends was getting married in Poland. So it was kind of obvious that me and my friends would go there. So in January we booked the trip to Poland, we decided to not just go to the wedding but also make a great vacation out of it. So we booked our stays for 10 days! Ever since we booked our trip I’ve been so excited about it, I was looking forward to it and I was just really, really happy.

But well, Corona came, so the wedding was sort of cancelled, and so was our trip. And I was really sad about it, but I still kept hoping. Around a month before we left we got the call: The trip and the wedding were still on! So we had just four weeks to plan the rest of the trip, start packing, buying stuff and it was a lot!

But we made it, on the 20th of July we drove to the airport. Me, two of my best friends and my boyfriend. With waaay to big and heavy suitcases we arrived in Krakow, a beautiful city my friends and I already visited last year. But this year we were going a little bit more to the south, to Zywiec to be exact.

The first night we spent at a beautiful hotel on top of a mountain, this hotel was actually the same location as where the wedding would take place in 5 days. It was a great stay but we were all so tired of traveling that we went to bed very early.

The next day we went to the little cabins where we would stay for 6 days. The cabins were very modern, clean and big. And the view was amazing! I am so in love with mountains, we don’t have them in the Netherlands so I was super excited right away. The four days before the wedding we spent by visiting small cities, swimming and sailing the lake, having a lot of drinks (beers), bbq’s and relaxation. It was a great and very chill week.

And then, on the 25th of July, the day was there. The wedding! I am not going to tell you so much about that because it’s kind of private. But let’s just say that it was a lot of fun. The ceremony was just beautiful and we had a lot of great, Polish food. The wedding lasted for two days (yes, that’s how they do it in Poland), so on the monday after we were exhausted.

And that monday was the day we left off to Warsaw, we took two trains and travelled for almost 4 hours. But we made it to the capital city of Poland! A beautiful and super cozy city. I really fell in love with that city. The architecture was amazing! We just wandered around the city for two days, explored the beautiful places and ate at super delicious restaurants. It was only two days but I enjoyed it so much!

And on the 30th of July, yesterday, we flew back. At around 3pm we we’re back in the Netherlands. It just felt and feels so weird to be back home, it’s like I never even went on this trip, except for all the pictures and video’s I have. The aftermovie will come later, need to find some time to work on that! 😉

And actually, I would leave the Netherlands again tomorrow to go on another vacation. I was invited to go to Croatia with my boyfriend’s family. But Corona screwed it up, around a week ago we got the message that the whole trip was cancelled. So that’s very sad, but it’s also nice to be home and not having to hurry.

Wow, what a long and big blogpost it was. But I just missed it so much. The whole blogging thing. But lately I’ve been working on something else, let’s say this website is getting a big big update. But I will tell you more about that later, I’m still working on it.

I hope you all are enjoying your summer and you also were able to travel a little bit this year?

Let me know what your summer looks like! I’m very curious!

xoxo Anne
