This was 2019! – pt.1

So yes, 2019 is almost at his ending, it’s so weird. 2019 has been a hell of a year, really. It had a lot of ups and a lot of downs. So somewhere I’m feeling a little bit relieved or happy that the year’s almost over, but on the other hand it’s always sad when something ends. It will never come back… So all we have is the memories, the photos or the stories.

So that’s one of the reasons why I am writing this today. So I will forever have 2019 in my memorie. Although I guess I won’t forget this year so quickly. Since a lot has happened. So this is going to be my recap of 2019. I haven’t been blogging so much in 2019 so maybe you’re curious what all happened to me last year. I’ve decided to make two separate blogposts about this because it’s a long story!

So let’s kick of with the first month:

January:
Well, this month wasn’t really special to me. The only thing I can remember is that I, together with my classmates/friends finished our first, selfmade documentary. And we were so f*cking proud of it. We even got a standing ovation from our teachers and other classmates. So that made me feel so secure and proud of myself!

February:
Another, not really special month. It always feels like January and February are like the least interesting months of the year haha. I just spend a lot of time with my friends this month. I also tried to do a little bit more with video/film on my Instagram. It didn’t really work out, although I really want to start doing it again! I did went to Amsterdam this month, together with my boyfriend. Always love citytrips!

March:
Well, now it’s starting to get a little bit more interesting. We kicked off March with one of our national holidays: Carnaval. It kind of means: a lot of drinking (alcohol), dressing up weird and party hard. This year I only partied one day, but I remember it was a lot of fun! March also was my birthday month. On the Friday before my actual birthday I invited some friends to my small party. But it wasn’t so successful, I don’t know why but it just wasn’t as fun as I expected and hoped it to be. Luckily I still had a really nice birthday cause my boyfriend and I went shopping in Eindhoven and in the evening my family came over. So that day was the best! And I also got some pretty great gifts from everyone!

April:
April was the month where I decided to cut off a big part of my hair. I just started to hate having long (and fizzy) hair so I cut it in a long bob. Still rocking this hairstyle (well it’s even shorter right now) so it definitely was a good choice. April also was the month that it really started to get warm and sunny outside. And I felt so good about that. I think we even hit the 30 degrees Celsius this month. At the end of April me and my classmates celebrated the fact that we survived our semester at school. The semester from February till April had been so stressful and so hard that I was so happy that I made it all. We celebrated it by picnicking in the parc, which was amazing.

May
In May, me, my family and my boyfriend went on vacation. We traveled to Belgium and hired a big, beautiful house in the mountains. I drove there all by myself, so it was the first time I drove so far and it was pretty scary. The vacation itself was amazing, the house was beautiful (it had a sauna) and we did so many amazing things. Like canoeing, mountainbiking and hiking. We also played a lot of games so it really was some great quality time with the fam. In May, Jorik and I also made another citytrip in the Netherlands and we visited Haarlem and Zandvoort. We romantically walked the beach and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

June:
June started off really well, I finished school so I finally had my well-deserved summerbreak. But this changed very quickly. My boyfriend started to feel sick and a couple of days later he ended up in the hospital. After a lot of check ups and medical examinations we got the diagnosis. He has Diabetes type 1. That messed up our life’s pretty hard. So June was all about visiting hospitals and trying to find a way to live with this disease. But together we made it trough June and now he’s doing so well! He found his way to live with it and everything is back to normal. But this month was really scary. He could’ve died because of the high sugar values in his blood.

So I’m going to stop her today. The next post will tell you more about the second half year of 2019. I hope you enjoyed this post and I would love to hear your stories about 2019! What was the best thing that happened to you this year?

Let me know and I will see you next time.

Xoxo Anne
